At long last!
Weigh in today and I have lost (drum rolls please)... 7lbs! SEVEN! In one week! Half a bloody stone. Such a boost to my confidence and self esteem. I really feel like I can do this now. I am...
Over the moon!
You get the picture.
Thanks to everyone who has read my blog and gave me some real encouragement. It's been invaluable. It truly has. I'm not saying that I'm never going to eat anything remotely bad for me again, that would be devastating, but I feel like my pre-pregnancy good habits have returned in rapid fashion since starting the Weight Watchers plan/healthy lifestyle. My attitude towards food and fitness has done a U-turn almost overnight. I know that I need to work really hard to lose the weight, and when I get to my goal (that's not if, as I am positive that I'm going to achieve it) I will have to work equally as hard to maintain a more ideal weight. I'm not aiming to be some fitness guru, but I think I'll have to work as hard as one just to keep the weight off. My family and I have always joked that I only have to look at a cream cake to put food on; notably a slight exaggeration, but it's a good metaphor for how my body deals with indulgent and naughty food.
I went to Asda tonight- my god, I seriously love that shop- and I noticed a few things about our experience. The first... I walked past George, telling Andy that "I'm not buying new clothes until I'm a size 14". Anyone close to me knows that this is a huge statement, but I have faith in myself. Secondly, on treating myself for my weight loss I opted for a nice Starbucks chilled coffee, rather than the usual giant bar of chocolate. Thirdly... I didn't buy myself ANY alcohol! The fourth change... When buying our Friday treat, I allowed Andy to get what he wanted (Chicken Kiev to have with mash) and I have opted for a vegetable lasagne, to eat with a fresh garden salad and a Weight Watchers garlic bread. Can you believe that we walked past the delicious fresh pizzas, crisps and dips?! I'm not totally pious and self-righteous, I will have some chocolate over the weekend, and I'm looking forward to a Costa at some point, but I think that I can justify that if I eat well the rest of the time.
I was having a night off the exercise tonight, but I got a bit itchy by 7.30pm, so I YouTubed some exercise "classes". There's anything you could possibly want! I went for Reggae Dancehall routines by Keaira LaShae, and it was great. She's really friendly and it's fun. Her YouTube channel is "superherofitnesstv" and she's on Twitter @KEAIRALASHAE. Check her out.
I've had my points allowance reduced too, which is an encouraging start. Whoop!
I'm treating myself to a Starbucks Chocolate Mocha and an early night.
Thanks for everything!
