Disaster struck today; I have only gone and caught yet another pesky cold. My ears are blocked, my nose is burning and my head is pounding. My bed has been calling me since about 7.35am. Basically, I'm done in! So this will be brief, for a change.
I was meant to go swimming with Sarah from work, but as my washing machine is still broken and our Mams are doing our clothes, I do not have a clean swimming costume at home, and I did the rinse under a tap trick last time! I thought that that would be me done, defeated for the night, but my alter-ego (that bitch is tough) dragged me to the gym kicking and screaming- or coughing and sneezing. I did 2k on the cross trainer and 4.8k on the bike. I also did 5 minutes on that silly "bike for your arms", as I call it. I've decided that after this squat challenge, my arms need a good seeing to! The gym was quieter tonight; less hardcore athletes and no women looking like they've just stepped off the Victoria's Secrets runway. This pleased me!
As I'm officially doing the Race for Life in July, I really must get serious about my fitness, and learn to run. Any of you runners out there, please, please, please show me where to start! Quite frankly, I feel ridiculous running at this size, but I don't want to walk the race this time. I want to run it for my Grandad! My goal is to run 90% of it at a fairly decent pace. Can I do this in 6 months?
Tea was basic tonight, thanks to meetings, meaning Andy and I couldn't be bothered to make anything impressive. I had Weight Watcher's Ocean Pie and oven baked vegetables. It was tasty, but I'm not really a fan of ready meals usually, feels like cheating, but they do come in handy!
If I can get up the stairs (thanks to my 110 squats- rest day tomorrow), I'm going to go and relax for a bit, with a cup of tea. Weigh day tomorrow. I'm being optimistic and thinking I may have lost 3lb, but I will be genuinely pleased with any loss! Wish me luck; I'll keep you informed!
My treat:
Ali xxx
